Idaho Beef is much more than tasty grass fed beef, its also an authentic Old-Western experience. Every part of our business, from the way we dress, to how we handle meat delivery, is done the Idaho way. When it comes to ranch-raised beef our grass fed meat is as real as it gets. Our owner, Pat is no different.
When Pat isn't visiting producers, or calling customers, he's hauling beef across the mountains. If you ask him he'll tell you - the time he spends on meat delivery is his favorite part of his business (besides hanging out at state fairs). It's because this is when Pat is able to share the best of his rural lifestyle with nearby cities. With a tip of his cowboy hat and a smile, Pat greets everyone he meets the same way - like a potential friend. It's the way he was raised, and it's part of the Idaho Beef culture.
That is why Idaho Beef isn't just a business, it's also a way of life. Here's a little bit about the man behind the beef:
My great grandparents came to this part of Idaho back in 1862. My family has been here ever since. I was raised on a ranch and I’ve been in the cattle industry all my life.
I have been around cows and cowboys all my life. When I was three years old, my parents gave me my first cow. As a youth, I participated in the livestock program in my local 4h club. I always got a kick out of raising steers.
Off the ranch I have been involved in issues that affect agriculture and the rural lifestyle. Ranching has always been my family's way of life, and I do what I can to preserve that. I am also the former chairman of the Clearwater/Lewis counties farm bureau. -Pat
In between the time spent on meat delivery, Pat can be found attending rodeos, hanging out in saloons, or fishing. He also loves swing dancing, flirting with pretty ladies, and teaching kids how to use a lasso.
